Cable Technicians - Hiring at QTS Data Center - Cedar Rapids, IA

*1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

-Job Summary:

• We are hiring Cable Technicians to support large-scale data center and technology infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction, mechanical, electrical, structured cabling, or general labor experience looking to build a long-term career in the growing data center industry.

-Key Responsibilities:

• Pull, route, and organize fiber optic and structured cabling.
• Install server racks, cable trays, ladder racks, and supporting infrastructure.
• Read and follow blueprints, project drawings, and installation documents.
• Use hand and power tools to install and mount equipment.
• Dress, secure, and label network and fiber optic cabling.
• Assist with material staging, inventory, and equipment movement.
• Install servers, switches, and related technology equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all quality, safety, and PPE requirements.

-Requirements:

• Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
• Construction, structured cabling, manufacturing, assembly, or general labor experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and construction drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in active construction and data center environments.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.

-Preferred Experience:

• Structured cabling installation.
• Cat5, Cat6, or fiber optic cabling.
• Data center or commercial construction environments.
• Electrical, telecommunications, low-voltage, or utility construction experience.
• Server rack installation and cable management.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
